Are there bedbugs in your room? Are you spending sleepless nights fighting them? Please do not tolerate any more and get rid of them immediately before they spread to other rooms. You can call a pest controller who will charge you a bit but do the job for you immediately. But if you want to do it on your own and save up the money, very well, ensure you the job perfectly so that no bedbugs or eggs get left behind.
First do a complete inspection of your bed and bedroom to ascertain where all the bedbugs are hiding. Look under the mattress, pillow and headrest. Next check out the carpet, screens and bed linen in the closet. Check the furniture, drawers, cupboards, mirror and dressing table. Look behind the picture frame too.
Leg Bed Frame
To get rid of the bedbugs first you have to identify where they are and where they have laid their eggs. This requires you to look under your mattress, pillow and headrest. Next cover the carpet, screen and linen for the same. You would need to also check out the furniture, mirror, picture frame on the wall, dressing table, drawers, cupboards etc. You would have to thoroughly and completely check out your room and cover each and every crack or opening to see where they are hiding.
To get rid of all the bedbugs, you would have to scrub the entire place down thoroughly with any cleaning agent. Then use the vacuum cleaner to clean the entire area. When you find the eggs, make sure you remove them completely and scrap the spot clean. Remove the vacuum bag from the cleaner and seal it inside another bag. Go on to seal all the openings and holes in the room now.
The next process is to wash all the materials including bed linen, cloths, screen, pillow covers etc in hot water with detergent. Bedbugs get killed in hot water. You can then use a pesticide that is effective on bedbugs and spray in all over the place including on the furniture, mattress, windows and other items. Before you use the pesticide, make sure you have bought the right one that is used to kill bedbugs and read all instructions and follow the safety precautions advised therein.
Pesticides are poisonous and should be kept away from reach of children and avoid un necessary contact with the pesticide solution. It is important that you follow the instructions given in the leaflet while using the pesticide as well as the instructions for disposal of the solution after usage. Some of them advise you to re vacuum the room once again after spraying the pesticide solution.
You have to now treat your mattress and clear it of bedbug. The best option is to keep the mattress out in the sunlight for a while where the bedbugs are driven away and then cover the entire mattress in plastic sheet and seal it properly to ensure bedbugs do not enter inside. Even the ones inside the mattress should not be allowed to come out.
By sealing the mattress you are depriving food to the bedbugs trapped inside the cover and they are sure to die in a short time. However as a precaution, keep checking once a while for bedbugs all over the place until you are sure you are completely rid of them.
